The terry of my childhood was for drying off after a swim in the ocean or coming out of a bath. After trying on the French Terry, I knew I had to add something similar to my collection. It wasn't until I was visiting India and I was able to source the perfect materials that this dream came to life. Now handmade from artisans based in the Rajasthan region of India, we've come up with the most flattering and comfortable robe yet. While I have fond memories of the soft touch of terry I much prefer the look of French Terry. I tend to run cold and my father runs hot so the house is generously air conditioned which the mid weight of French Terry is perfect for. As soon as I began designing floral prints, I knew that hydrangeas would be one of my first patterns. Growing up on the North Shore of Long Island, hydrangeas were always in the background of childhood summers. It wasn’t until I would later find them mid-bloom at my husband's home in the Hamptons, did I really understand the beauty of these flowers. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI met my husband in high school and began visiting him in East Hampton each summer after we met. His family lived in a rambling shingled house surrounded by elm trees, privet hedges, and beautiful blue hydrangeas. My mother-in-law had terrific style; she adored blue hydrangeas and had them planted throughout the backyard. Something about them struck me and stayed with me long after my visit. There’s something magical about the blue flowers of hydrangeas framed by the vibrant green grass of summer. This scene and its palette of colors are forever etched in my memory. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHydrangeas’ soft shape is perfectly suited for the Indian block print process. His family lived in a rambling shingled house surrounded by elm trees, privet hedges, and beautiful blue hydrangeas. My mother-in-law had terrific style; she adored blue hydrangeas and had them planted throughout the backyard. Something about them struck me and stayed with me long after my visit. There’s something magical about the blue flowers of hydrangeas framed by the vibrant green grass of summer. Creating it was relatively easy as I had it so clear in my mind, but getting it carved into wood correctly took many revisions.\u003cbr\u003eWith hand blocking, every piece is unique; no two are the same. We use four blocks to make this print, each laid down in succession across a long swath of cotton.
